The crux of our collective lifetimes...this life, this time, is that in the face of increasing population and dwindling resources, resources we should not be combusting/reacting/burning/cutting/digging, frugality, a frugal lifestyle, has never been part of the equation. That's because of our consumption based/principled economy, which is based on the myth of perpetual growth. To me, that is the crux of my time on this Earth. So few individuals are adopting a frugal lifestyle - yes, growing numbers, but still too few to make a difference. I doubt, as a "sentient" species, we have the balls to do what it takes on a global scale, but that's okay. If we don't, Mother Earth will do it for us.
