Paul Eisenberg's comment nails it..."What is different is that they are very frustrated by the very things the right wing has done to them destroying their economic opportunities, educational systems, and concentrating wealth. Their frustration has a basis in reality. But....they have not paid attention. They are not learners. They are not careful observers. So each manipulative con man that comes along, and who is part of the movement that harmed them creating their frustrations, is able to hijack their frustrations. They are able to blame the innocent and these people do not know enough to understand the lie. The cons create a simplistic and feel good but counter productive and self destructive movement. It feels good for them to have a target to focus their rage. It does not matter whether it is the right target. They believe the con job, and they cannot see they are being further abused by the very abusers who put them where they are. None of reality matters, because spewing the hate and frustration feels good, and admitting they've allowed themselves to be conned and further damaged by Trump and the GOP feels really, really bad. And for them, it is not about thinking or reality. It is all about feeling. That is why they look so stupid. It is all misdirected emotion. Such is one form of insanity."
