I just LOVE it. Sort of turns all the "stylists" on their heads!! Not smooth, not elegant really, bent knees, flexed and unpointed toes...

Sheesh! What are the bailarines ragging on about when they berate us with "authentic"!!??

I thought about some of the things Johanna mentions. I think, well it looks pretty great, and there is no long leg extension, none of the stuff I used to get so beat up about with my teachers. She isn't even trying to keep knees together or to brush the ankles together. But one thing is clear: the connection or focus on each other, and the music. And it looks like fun. I watched a movie "Tango, our Dance." about ten times, and in the old film, (not really that long ago) the women have a style which is sort of clutsy, letting the lead sort of drag them around, feet going every which way. I think the dance has just changed, but the spirit is the same, no?
