kayaking is so much fun ~ although i'm more in to the calmer rivers & lakes style than the class 4 or 5 style. i was raised kayaking actually cuz my parents love it too ~ i have my own i can use whenever i go to oregon to visit them. do you ever go kayak camping? that can be really fun too! ;o)

No more whitewater for me...perhaps in a raft...I don't even fit in those tiny squirtboats they make now...they are designed to float just below the surface...I'm such a big dood, even if I could get into the cockpit, I think I would be scraping the bottom of the river and my chin just above the waterline...

kayak trips always involved car camping or sharing cheap hotels...

I did do canoe camping...multi-day trips where we brought all our gear, ice chests, etc. in the canoes with us...in drybags...

those were the days...getting back home all smoky and grimy and sunburnt...a hot shower was unbelievable...

I still have my canoe...a 17'-6" Grumman whitewater model...extra ribs and a shoe keel...aluminum....before royalex was even invented...I bought it 34 years ago...

God I'm old...
